Red Fox Inn

The Girl and I hit the Red Fox Inn in Middleburg, VA for the V-Day celebrations. While it was a lovely space, often frequented by JFK and Jackie O in their heyday, for what we paid I was rewarded with a mushroom risotto that resembled poster paste and The Girl was rewarded with a pork chop that could have doubled for a hockey puck in a pinch. Overall, great ambiance, but lackluster food.

The champion of the evening was the Hunt Country Chardonnay from Piedmont Winery in Virginia. Slight sweetness, a surprising oakiness given the lack of oak aging, and a really well-rounded wine for the price and, well, that it's from Virginia...
